USS-POSCO produces a continuously coated, hot dipped galvanized steel sheet that becomes either regular Hot Dipped Zinc Coated Steel or Galvanneal (Zinc-Iron Alloy Coated Steel). We have the ability to produce coating levels that range from G-30 to G-90, A-40 and A-60, as well as G-200 Galvanized Culvert. USS-POSCO has the capability to produce coating levels up to G-235, subject to inquiry.

Galvanized sheet is used in a variety of applications including metal construction studs, siding, roofing, trusses, decking, gutters, downspouts, highway culverts and other construction materials. A $15 million capital upgrade of our No. 2 Continuous Coating Line has enabled us to do things the competition can't. This phase of improvements, completed in mid-1997, has given us unsurpassed premium quality. These improvements have enabled us to better serve critical markets, such as service station canopy, computer chassis and gaming equipment.

USS-POSCO has developed UPI.GALXC® (GalXC), a special hot dipped galvanized as a unique and economical alternative to electro-galvanized steel. UPI.GALXC® is a hot dipped galvanized sheet product that has a coating weight at or under G-30. It is temper passed to provide an ultra smooth surface that has an attractive, “out of this world” look and feel. In addition to having superior surface quality, UPI.GALXC® has excellent flatness.
