Kevin Kwangsoo Kim, is a native of Seoul, South Korea and is a 1985 graduate of Chonbuk National University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering. In 1996, he also completed a course of executive study at the Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom.
Kim began his career with POSCO in 1985 at the Pohang Works in South Korea as a plant engineer in the Hot Strip Mill. In 1986, he was assigned to the Stainless Steel Project special task force team which was responsible for planning and implementing POSCO's entry into the stainless steel market. As a member of the team, Kim established the technical standards used in the hot rolling of stainless steels, and in 2001 he was promoted to the position of Team Leader - Special Steel Development in the Technical Development Division.
In 2003, Kim was transferred to POSCO's European office as a Market Researcher and also served as an Executive Member on the Committee on Economics & Statistics of the International Stainless Steel Forum located in Brussels.
In 2008, Kim returned to POSCO as the General Manager of the Stainless Steel Sales and Marketing Group with full responsibility for world-wide stainless sales activity.
His broad range of experience provides Kim with extensive knowledge of POSCO's managerial processes, procedures, and methodologies, and in 2011, he was assigned to USS-POSCO Industries as Executive Vice President. He and his wife Sara reside in Clayton, CA. He has two grown children, Soobin & Hyobin. |
